About the Player

Mohammed Siraj's story is one of relentless pace and quiet resilience, a fast bowler who rose from Hyderabad's bylanes to lead India's attack with the new ball. He burst into the national consciousness in Australia in 2020-21, when he fronted a depleted attack during the historic Brisbane Test win. His aggression is not just in his bowling but in an unyielding spirit that has made him the man his captains turn to in pressure situations.

His early international career was shaped by grief, losing his father just before his Test debut, and he marked his first Test wicket with a tribute to him. Siraj moves the ball both ways at pace, works batters over with a wobble-seam delivery and follows up with a sharp bouncer. He has grown across formats, and his six for 21 in the 2023 Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka, one of the most destructive ODI spells of recent years, earned him the Player of the Match award.

In the IPL he spent years as a strike bowler for Royal Challengers Bengaluru before joining Gujarat Titans in 2025, where he often takes the toughest overs. His work ethic is renowned, and he keeps refining his yorkers and slower balls in the nets.

Now a senior member of India's pace attack with more than 100 Test wickets, Siraj was central to India's run to the 2023 World Cup final and starred in the drawn 2025 Test series in England, where he was India's leading wicket-taker. His hunger shows no sign of fading.
