Amelia Kerr has carried New Zealand cricket's future on her shoulders since she was a teenager, and in the 2020s she grew into the side's pivotal all-round force. She announced herself in 2018, at just 17, with an unbeaten 232 against Ireland, still the highest individual score in women's one-day internationals. Her calm authority in the middle order and her leg-spin variations make her the player New Zealand leans on in moments of pressure, whether she is marshalling a chase or breaking a stubborn partnership.

Her bowling has matured from promising to precise. A well-disguised googly and a reliable top-spinner make her a wicket-taking threat in the middle overs across formats, and her biggest moment came at the 2024 T20 World Cup in the UAE, where she was Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament as New Zealand won their first title in the format.
