About the Player

Alyssa Healy has redefined what it means to be a wicketkeeper-batter at the highest level, blending explosive power at the top of the order with one of the safest pairs of gloves in the women's game. She was Player of the Tournament at the 2018 and 2020 T20 World Cups, and her half-century in the 2020 final in front of 86,000 at the MCG set up Australia's demolition of India.

Her defining innings came two years later. In the 2022 ODI World Cup final against England at Hagley Oval, she blazed 170, the highest score in any World Cup final, men's or women's, and took the Player of the Match award. Part of a cricketing family, the niece of Ian Healy and married to Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc, she has been at the heart of an era of Australian dominance, collecting a stack of T20 World Cup titles alongside the 2022 ODI crown and the 2022 Commonwealth Games gold.

Healy's influence extends beyond the boundary. She took over the Australian captaincy across formats in 2023 after Meg Lanning's retirement, leading with the same fearlessness she bats with. With well over 7,000 international runs, more T20I runs than any other Australian, and hundreds of dismissals behind the stumps, she has already secured her place among the greats. In domestic cricket she remains a Sydney Sixers stalwart in the WBBL, and even in her mid-thirties her hunger for success is undimmed.
