Meet the 2018 Local Hosts

This year we are delighted to be working with two internationally renowned local hosts. NICE and SIGN are both world leaders in the Guideline Development arena and are committed to delivering a professional academic conference for all in attendance.

National Institute for Health & Care Excellence

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) was set up in 1999 to reduce variation in the availability and quality of NHS treatments and care in England. Today it is responsible for developing national guidance, standards and information on providing high-quality health and social care, and preventing and treating ill health. NICE guidance helps health, public health and social care professionals deliver the best possible care based on the best available evidence.

 Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network

The Scottish Intercollegiate Guidelines Network (SIGN) was established in 1993 by the Academy of Royal Colleges in Scotland, to develop evidence-based clinical guidelines for the NHS in Scotland. As a result, SIGN’s national guideline programme remains publicly funded but professionally led and politically independent. Since its establishment, SIGN has been a collaborative initiative; a network of clinicians and other healthcare professionals and public partners.
